RFID SerialMagic scanner setup for Mac

After you downloaded and installed SerialIO, perform the following steps.

(1) Open your SerialIO preferences.

(2) Select your device you plan to use the scanner with.

(3) Select the Ultra-PD1 scanner.  This is a USB attached scanner.

(4) Make sure the Constant Read mode is unchecked and you have given your reader ample power. 19 is a good starting power.

(5) Make sure you change the data to "ASCII".  If you don't you will not be able to recognize the tag when it is read.

(6) Now you need to register the Computer with SerialIO.  To do this, you need to copy your computer ID and email it to ashton@serialio.com or sales@serialio.com.  Request a Registration key.  There is no charge for this key but your RFID can only be used on one MAC at a time. You will need the key to operate the reader.  Normally it takes a few hours for SerialIO to respond.

(7)  Once you have the key, copy and paste it into the Registration Key field and press "Apply".

(8)  You should see the "Application is registered."  message.

(9) At this point, you should be good to go to start using your SerialIO RFID reader.
